EMV Chip Technology
The advent of EMV chip cards introduces a host of issues for fine dining establishments. In the past, a customer would present their MSR card to their server, the card was taken back to the POS register and processed.
With the new EMV cards this is no longer possible, as the customer must provide either a PIN or signature while their card is inserted into the payment terminal. As this new technology is implemented the liability for fraud, will be shifted to any restaurateurs who continue to process the MSR cards.
Utilizing a Wi-Fi based portable terminal, customer EMV card payments can be processed anywhere in your establishment, regardless of the distance from the POS or obstructions, such as concrete walls.
